DNA Testing
According to a recent study, up to 1 in 25 dads could unknowingly be raising another man’s child. You and your child deserve to know the truth.
DNA paternity test results can be used in legal matters involving child support. If a tested man is excluded as being the father of a child he may be released from all child support responsibility. The reverse is true if a tested man is not excluded as being the father; the courts usually determine him to be responsible for child support.
DNA paternity tests offer also a peace of mind when there are no legal issues at stake. Not knowing who your mother or father are can have a huge impact on your everyday life.

A paternity test is determined through DNA testing of the child, the mother and the alleged father. A paternity test can be performed without testing the mother, but it does reduce the statistical value of the test. Every effort should be made to test the mother when she is available.
Types of DNA Tests
There are two types of paternity tests, private and legal. The only difference between the two types of tests is the documentation procedures used at the time of sample collection. The laboratory methods are identical.
A personal paternity test can be collected anonymously. Samples for a legal test must be collected or witnessed by a neutral third party with no interest in the test’s outcome and proper verification of identity documented for each person.
Personal Test
The private paternity test is a quick and economical solution perfect for families who are seeking the truth regarding paternity for personal information.
Useful for:
• Families with lingering doubt
• Adult children wanting verification
• Families wanting to know before incurring legal costs
Legal Test
A legal paternity test is a conclusive, legally binding test that uses DNA to determine if a man is the biological father of a child. The primary difference between a legal paternity test and a private paternity test is the Chain of Custody; a documentation process used to ensure test results are legally admissible.
Useful for:
• Child support
• Child custody
• Immigration
• Inheritance
